Male Chauvinist Chili

Simple little crockpot recipe that’s really great for any time.

3 slices of bacon, diced
½ lb. italian link sausage, cut into 1 in. pieces
½ lb. ground chuck
2 medium onions, chopped
2 small green pepper, seeded and chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced (garlic powder)
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1-3 tsp. chili powder
½ tsp. dry mustard
¼ tsp. pepper
2 cans Italian style tomatoes
1 can pinto beans
1 can kidney beans

After dicing the bacon, brown the pieces until crisp and drain. Then brown the sausage and ground chuck with onions over medium heat. Drain them and add to the crockpot. Add the bacon and the remaining ingredients, stir well. Cover and cook on low for 6-14 hours. Taste for seasoning.

This was a great little recipe I made for my dad and his coworkers and it went over really well. You can leave stuff out, or substitute the beans for whatever you want. It’s really simple to start in the morning and forget about it until you’re hungry later that day.

*Note: I do not know where this recipe came from. I’m pretty sure it was from an older cookbook, but I can’t be sure which. I just think people should try it.

Awesome Velveeta Dip

This is a simple yummy dip for chips or crackers.

1 lb. box of velveeta cheese
1 can of ro-tel tomatoes and chilies (hot or mild, depending on if you like spicy food)
1 lb. whole sausage (hot or mild, whatever your preference)

Crumble and brown the sausage in a skillet. Drain it and cut the velveeta cheese into chunks. Place in a large sauce pan and add the sausage and can of ro-tel. Heat and stir frequently to avoid burning. Once melted and heated through, put into bowls and serve with your favorite chips or crackers.

Great for parties or to just have around the house to eat. It makes a lot so if necessary, can be frozen for later. Once refrigerated, it’s best to heat it up in the microwave to avoid constant chip/cracker breaking.
